Fisheye lens perspective tutorial

Description

This is something I tried in my recent superman drawing. It’s basically a simplified four-point perspective and you don’t really need rulers.

1. First vanishing point near the horizon. Below that we draw the horizon curved to give the fisheye lens effect. Parallel lines becoming further apart and reducing in curvature closer to the viewer to add depth.
2. Another vanishing point essentially being the centre of the Earth. This is now used as the source point for all buildings. The other lines used to frame their tops.
3. Construct your cityscape varying dimensions of buildings as required. In this case, as we want to be looking down on the buildings, it makes sense to see as many rooftops as possible while still maintaining variety.
4. When short and middle distance buildings are done the cityscape will only feel real if distant and small buildings are included. These can be easily implied by using the perpendicular gridlines that would form squares on the Earth’s surface. Careful to imply great distance by keeping these lines close together and less distance by spacing them out. You should now a have the basic framework of a #cityscape viewed through a fisheye lens.

Look through my gallery and if you think there's anything else I could do a tutorial on, please let me know. :)
